Gene Therapy for Peripheral Neuropathy
Periperal neuropathy, a form of chronic pain caused by damage to nerve fibers in the body's extremities, is a common complication of diabetes and cancer. It's also extremely difficult to treat -- but University of Pittsburgh researchers have used gene therapy to treat mice afflicted by the condition.
